D-CATR NavalScreen Shots: Utilities
This is what the screen looks like when there's a lot going on.
Loading from the list of included scenarios.
Setup screen. Note that you can set the surface scale and time scale to just about anything, including fractions. The range estimation for gunnery and angle estimation for torpedo systems are not implemented yet.
The oft-requested anti-aircraft factor calculator. The AA values are the same as in Shipbase III and Shipbase 5, so this utility can be used for those programs as well. The AA calculator is available as a stand-alone program here.
The dice roller utility. I've included this in just about every computer-assist wargame project I've written since 1989, but I don't remember actually using it myself in a game in 20 years.
The range calculator. You can use it to convert either way, from real-world yards/meters to tabletop inches/centimeters and vice versa, and real-world speed in knots to tabletop inches/centimeters and vice versa. Since the surface scale and time scale can be set to just about anything, including fractions, I've found that this utility is very handy. I've fired up D-CATR Naval many times just to use the built-in range calculator to crunch some numbers from other games, naval and otherwise.
