They Who Are Having A Bad Day:

What's It About?

What is my novel, They Who Are Having A Bad Day, about? I'm glad you asked.

The book is about what happens inside the human mind. Paul Hamilton, an unwitting graduate student, is tricked into entering a black hole with instructions to radio back everything he sees and experiences. His mind unravels as he enters the event horizon of the black hole and he sees an entire universe unfold before him, peopled by characters and races and situations that represent the different corners of Paul's disintegrating mind. The characters must figure out a way to save the graduate student and release him from the black hole without causing their own universe to disappear.

To put it another way, imagine if Tom Robbins, Tom Clancy, Tom Jentz, Tom Bulfinch, Tom Jones, and Tom Servo had a child, and that child was hit on the head by an asteroid and killed, and then some wiseguy came along and wrote a book. This would be that book.

Corporal Yompy of the 2nd Gummibarenjagers

What's the story really about? Well, it's about coffee, Columbine, road rage, cancer, concentration camps, terrorism, perception, mental illness, racism, hats, and huge robotic war machines wearing neckties. In other words it's an autobiography.
